A hostname is the label (the name) assigned to a device (a host) on a network and is used to distinguish one device from another on a specific network or over the internet. The hostname for a computer on a home network may be something like new laptop, Guest-Desktop, or FamilyPC.
One-to-one association between hostname and MAC address. The host note will be displayed in the host alias column that in the host monitor.

Host domain name configuration. The default domain suffix is LAN.
The premise that the host domain name is valid is that the intranet host uses the intranet IP of the router as the DNS proxy.
